University of Heidelberg

Teaching of students

The scientists of ZAH are members of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy and contribute significantly to the education of students. In the actual "Studienplan Astronomie" the requirements and recommenations to organize the studies in Astronomy are described.

Teaching

The lecturers of ZAH cover most of the lectures for Astronomy at the university. Additionally the scientists of ZAH are active in the basic education in physics. The information system of the university LSF presents the full range of lectures for

Mini-projects

The institutes of ZAH offer mini-projects for graduate students to allow an early insight to the actual scientific research.

Diploma- and PhD- theses

The supervision of diploma- and PhD-theses play an important role to connect education and research. Along with ZAH many theses projects are performed at the Max-Planck Institutes MPIA and MPIK.

IMPRS

The " International Max Planck Research School for Astronomy and Cosmic Physics" at the University of Heidelberg (IMPRS-HD) is a collaborative effort between the Max Planck Society, represented by MPIA and MPIK, and the University of Heidelberg, represented by ZAH. It offers students in astrophysics a first-class education in the framework of the Heidelberg Graduate School of Fundamental Physics.
